Welcome to the website.

The aim of the site is to produce an online gallery/directory of photos of invertebrates from the UK taken through microscopes. The reason for this is that whilst there are numerous websites and galleries dedicated to species photos and identification in the wild, there is much less information available regarding the species as seen under magnification. As these specimens are usually preserved, they may often differ in colour and shape when compared to a specimen photographed in the wild.

This site is intended as an online resource for aiding in the identification of invertebrate samples from within the United Kingdom. The photos are all available on flickr and have been provided by the members through a group created specifically for the task.

As this site is an amateur project, no guarantee can be made over the accuracy of any species identifications or the taxonomy used.

As such if you spot an error please do not hesitate to contact me.
